Connections…

Sometimes inexplicable things happen.

Given the events of this week and this weekend surrounding Nancy, it was uncanny that I would receive an e-mail today from my long-time friend, Dina. She sent me this picture of a statue that has often, over the years, been the topic of our conversations.

2003 Miata for Sale

I’ve decided to buy a new truck, and to part with my beloved MX-5. If you’re in the market for a sweet little sports car, here’s the listing at CarsDirect.com.

And before you ask, the CarPuter is not included.

Interesting…

I haven’t actually started re-reading it yet, but memories of the first time around make me think. I’m talking about Kurt Vonnegut’s "Breakfast of Champions".

Sometimes I think the whole world is just a 4-D novel written especially for my amusement.

Is it so strange to think that perhaps God created everything, but in all creation, gave to me and me alone "free will" and the rest of you are just robots programmed to react to me? I don’t know. But I am convinced that if there is a God… He loves me best. I’m his favorite. Sorry ’bout your luck.

And I thought I was demanding…

I happened across this Contract of Wifely Expectations.

Yikes!

In the News…

Those of you know know me know I’m a ‘news addict’. For the most part, that’s limited to news about natural and other disasters, and sometimes politics. Today, being a slow news day, the best thing to come about is this article entitled Man Kills Roommate Over Toilet Paper Shortage.

See what happens when you use more than your fair share of TP?

Unofficially Official

Last night I had a quick convo with the boss. Today I had several one-on-one convo’s with the various members of my team bringing them into the loop.

Brokeback… to the Future?

Last Friday I was listening to "All Things Considered" on NPR when they talked about "Not Coming to a Theater Near You", referring to a series of bogus "movie trailers". Being a Star Wars "fanfilm" fan, I’m somewhat familiar with the genre. So last night I downloaded "Brokeback to the Future", a collection of scenes from the "Back to the Future" trilogy, set to music from "Brokeback Mountain". It builds a whole new picture of the relationship between a teenage time-traveler and the man he lovingly calls, "Doc".

So, go to NPR.org and check out the rest of the trailers. I meant to do so today, but I didn’t have time.

More on the cartoons…

I was doing some reading tonight and catching up on things. I was actually researching "zombies" and Haitian folklore when I ran across, quite accidently, Zombie’s Mohammed Image Archive.

Not only will you find the original 12 cartoons published in Jyllands-Posten, you’ll find dozens of other representations of Mohammed, some going back to the birth of Islam… many by Muslim artists.

It’s an interesting site.
