Mowing the lawn

What excitement. Today I mowed the lawn. Well, I tried anyway. I used the push-mower to get up close to the house, the hedges, around the trees n stuff, before it started smoking. I thought I’d let it "rest" a bit and tackle the bigger parts.

So then I got the riding mower out and got about half-way done before I noticed it wasn’t really cutting anymore. I’m hoping it just needs the blades sharpened.

So then I went back to the push mower. I started it up and noticed that oil is spewing out from somewhere and lots of smoke. It just doesn’t seem safe. Dammit.

Then I went inside to have a beer and take a break. That was a couple hours ago.

I’m back from India

Most everyone who frequents this site knows why I haven’t posted in awhile. But for those who didn’t know, I’ve been on vacation in India.

There are too many highlights of this trip to pick out one or two. The entire trip was incredible. Soon, I’ll post pictures to the Photo Gallery here, but for now you can view most of the pictures at photos.Yahoo.com/metaphysx.

As you can see, I visited Delhi, Agra (the Taj Mahal), Jaipur (the Amber Fort and Pink City), spent a few days at a resort and the beaches in Goa and even participated as ‘best man’ in a traditional Punjabi wedding for my friends Manu and Indu. For much of the trip, I was but a tourist, looking at things as an outsider. But during the wedding, Manu’s friends and family definitely made me feel like part of the family and the culture. It was a flood of new experiences I wouldn’t trade for anything.
