First, let me say I LOVE my ‘98 Amigo! Saturday afternoon she towed a total of about 3800 lbs from Greenwood to my house. That’s only about 40 miles, but given the twisty terrain with some steep inclines going up the road to my place, I was really impressed.
But now you’re wondering… 3800 lbs of exactly what was the Amigo towing?
1500 lbs was the ‘auto transport’ trailer alone.
The other 2300 lbs was my new, black 2003 Mazda MX-5 ‘Miata/Eunos’ Roadster.

I read more on the internet, and from what I could tell, a bad O2 sensor would typically result in a "rich" fuel/air mixture. Given that my situation is "lean", I took the $60 part back to AutoZone.
However, while I was there I picked up a can of STP Throttle/Intake cleaner and an ERG Valve gasket for a total of $8.

I told the story at work and some people thought it was funny. So I decided I’d relay it to you too.
Wednesday night I rushed home after work hoping to have some daylight hours left to work on the Amigo. By 5:45 I noticed it was already getting dark and while I might have 20 minutes of daylight left, I certainly didn’t have a few hours. So I had to stop by the convenience store for some batteries for the flashlight.
Finally… already dark and the temperature dropping, I arrived home, changed into jeans and a sweatshirt, and got to work.

Yes, my trusty Amigo might truly be seeing her final days. No… not really. But she needs some TLC.
For the past year or so, I’ve noticed my ‘98 Isuzu Amigo 3.2L V6 with 120k+ miles has lost some performance, mileage and burns a lot of oil. The Check Engine Light (CEL) comes on intermittently too.
But last week things started getting worse. She started idling rough and occassionally stalling. I’ve been hitting the Isuzu forums quite a bit trying to figure out whether I can fix it myself or is it really requires a visit to the dealership.

… it’s already started. And it’s not even Thanksgiving yet!!
Today I received an email from a family member regarding contributing to a "from the family" Christmas gift to another family member. I’m still debating my response. Do I just give in and ‘go with the flow’, or do I finally stand up and say, "Don’t you so-called Christians realize that Christmas has, from your own Biblical perspective, even worse origins than Halloween?"
For some tidbits, I recommend reading my annual republished article "Christmas, more than you ever wanted to know" and the History Channel’s "The Real Story of Christmas".
If you’re a frequent visitor, you know I’ve been plagued for some months now with just how to deal with my car situation. If not, here’s a quick recap: I have now paid off my beloved Isuzu Amigo. She’s all mine. Now what?
She’s having some troubles, but nothing serious, I think. My ‘dilema du jour’ is whether to get her fixed up and hang on to her a while longer, or replace her with a newer, sexier model.

"America has spoken, and I’m humbled by the trust and the confidence of my fellow citizens," Bush said after declaring victory in the 2004 Presidential election. I find this offensive, given that only 51% voted for him!
Over lunch today, I talked with a friend who at times became rather emotional over Bush’s win. She and the other 49% feel something other than "trust" and "confidence" toward the President.

That phrase always cracks me up. I always picture a dozen or so of ME hanging from some leafless tree by the neck. Anyway…
Here’s my coverage of the election. I’m not so concerned with the national election nor the electoral votes, but moreso with my local community and how we, as Hoosiers, being traditionally Republican, will vote.
As of now, 7:40ish pm… Bush is clearly the projected leader (per CNN). However, looking county-by-county, it’s interesting that while most are just barely "Bush", a few are barely "Kerry". It’s not nearly as slanted as I thought… but instead, much closer.
Stay tuned.
