Lately, more so than usual, I’ve been told that I need to get a girlfriend.
Last night I tried an experiment with doing ""split screens"". This is a <a href=""/images/duel_test.avi"">short clip (viewable by most anyone, no DivX required) of me dueling with my ""evil twin"".
If you’ve never tried choreographing a swordfight with yourself… lemme tell ya… timing is everything.
Maybe I do need a girlfriend….

Spiderman I didn’t like this one. Special effects are cool if they help tell a story. So, if one imagines Spiderman without all the special effects, what’s left? Yes, I know the story of Spiderman’s origin is well-known, and hence the lack of surprise may have contributed to my utter boredom while I watched. But others like Batman, Superman and even X-Men did a good job of retelling a common story with some sort of twist to hold the viewer’s attention.
As for dialog, it was one dreadful comic-book cliche after another. Finally, the romantic aspects of Peter and MJ’s relationship were totally unbelievable.
If you have a chance to skip this one, do so. I think this one would be better watched at home on DVD, when you can get up to pee during the boring parts.
Star W…

I’ll leave the file mentioned in the previous post available in case anyone wants to see the difference between the two versions.
Again, get DivX if you don’t have it already.
<a href=""/images/AFW_DIVX.avi"">Download ""The Attack from Within"" here!. The final version turned out to be a little over 3 minutes long, and it’s about 7.5 MB. Enjoy!

Ok… here’s a preview of one of the projects I’ve been working on. It’s a short film with a working title of ""The Attack from Within"". It’s not too bad for my first attempt. Note too that’s it’s not finished, so you’ll see some missing effects and other things that I’ll add soon.
Oh… and due to size, I’m forced to offer this ONLY in DivX 5 format. If you need DivX, you can download the codec <a href=""http://www.divx-digest.com/software/divxcodec5.html"">here.
<a href=""/images/prev_divx2.avi"">Download the movie!. It’s about 6 MB and runs almost 2 minutes. It’s encoded at 180×120, but you can enlarge it quite a bit and the quality is still pretty good….
It just hit me that it’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything. So I’m posting now to let you know that I haven’t died or anything. I’ve just been busy working on some other little projects. They’re double-plus top secret right now, but I’ll let you in when I get closer to completion.

I think I’m going to try to get a job with Industrial Light and Magic. hehe.
My new lightsaber came in the other day, and I decided to give it a shot. You know… gotta’ make sure it works and everything. <a href=""/images/jedi_chad_1.avi"">Here’s a video I made of myself. It’s only about 560k. And yes, it has sound too! If you have a faster connection, you can download the <a href=""/images/jedi_chad_320×240_divx.avi"">320×240, DivX 5 version (900k).
How’d I do that?
The <a href=""javascript:photo_open(’show.php?photo=images/saber.jpg’,'450′,’270′);"">saber itself is a tooled aluminum hilt from <a href=""http://www.rlsasabers.com"" target=""_new"">RLSA Sabers. It doesn’t really do anything but look nice on a shelf or hanging from a belt. I filmed myself wavi…

There I was, minding my own business. Berkeley and I were having some coffee, smoking cigarettes and watching The Usual Suspects when suddenly the phone rang.
It was my best friend (and adopted big sister), Dina and our friend Marie calling from Colorado. The two of them had apparently decided to get together for a few drinks and then had an urge to talk to me. That made me feel all fuzzy inside.
I haven’t talked to Dina much since her wedding last August. I’ve been busy and she’s been busy, but as Marie said, one great thing about real, true friends is that you can go months without talking, but when you do… it’s just like you saw them yesterday.
Though not a day goes by that she doesn’t at least cross my mind, hearing her voice really makes me miss her. I could …

Now you can make prank phone calls using <a href=""http://www.stileproject.com/arnoldsound.html"" target=""_new"">voice clips from Arnold Schwarzennegar. A good 45 seconds of entertainment… at least….
I got some new boots, as part of the Jedi costume I’m putting together, and thought I’d snap a pic of myself in a cool ""Jedi pose"". Since I am currently without a lightsaber, I used one of my dog’s chew toys. Was I surprised when it worked!
