Not a lot happened today. I’m not sure what’s possessed me to make an entry. I drank some coffee and smoked some cigarettes. Today at work I wore my ""programmer hat"" and did some development work in VB and ASP. That’s always a welcome change.
I slept most of the way home. I didn’t even notice the cute girl on the bus (the whose butt is featured below) until she disembarked. She bumped my leg and woke me up… perhaps purposefully?
I came home and walked the dog. Then I tried a few different ways to re-encode some AVI movies I have for better quality. I picked up my guitar and played a few chords, but that bored me. Oh, I ate a frozen pizza. I cooked it first, of course.
Got an email from my mom about some important dates to remember… one cousin’s high school graduation …

Sorry it’s been so long since my last post. I’ve been rather pre-occupied with the Jornada and other toys… and watching my hair grow.
So… with the ""changes"" at work, I had to extend my schedule a bit to cover earlier hours, which means I’m riding an earlier bus and haven’t seen Gidge in weeks. Plus, this is finals week, so I likely wouldn’t see her anymore anyway. Ahh… ships that pass in the night.
I finally sat down and rebuilt two of my computers. I got new CDRW and DVD-ROM drives. So now I can… ahem… backup my DVD’s. The second PC is my LAN gateway, and also handles the CPU-intensive encoding while I play on the first… so it all works out. My name is Chad, and I’m a geek.
I bought a new pair of black dress boots on eBay. They’re nice, but about 1/2 a size too …

The clean-up portion of the ground war in Afghanistan heated up yesterday when the Allies revealed plans to airdrop a platoon of crack French existentialist philosophers into the country to destroy the morale of the remaining Taliban zealots by proving the non-existence of God.
Elements from the feared Jean-Paul Sartre Brigade, or ‘Black Berets’, will be parachuted into the combat zones to spread doubt, despondency and existential anomie among the enemy. Hardened by numerous intellectual battles fought during their long occupation of Paris’s Left Bank, their first action will be to establish a number of sidewalk cafes at strategic points near the front lines.
There they will drink coffee and talk animatedly about the absurd nature of life and man’s lonely isolation in the universe. T…

I’ve spent the past few days playing with the new Jornada. I am destined to be the most efficient and organized man alive… as soon as I stop spending so much time getting the MP3’s compressed and finding a wallpaper that is controversial, but not so risque as to warrant any kind of harrassment suit.
Speaking of harassment, a friend told me my latest adventure somewhat constitutes ’stalking’. I say it’s all in good fun. I decided the other day that my mission was to get a picture of Gidge for the website. So today I practiced covertly holding the camera to get one while she boards the bus or passes by.

Practicing to get a good shot, this is some girl’s butt. Cute as it is, it’s not exactly the target I was aiming for. If …

Gidge was on the bus Wednesday and Thursday. However, while hoping she’d look my way as she crossed in front me exiting the bus I got the distinct impression that she purposely didn’t want to look my direction. I think I’m going to give up on her. Gidge is now delegated to the designation of ""eye candy"".
In other news, it’s been a pretty crappy week. The company I work for, <a href=""http://www.teletron.com"" target=""_new"">Teletron has gone through another restructuring which meant the layoff of about 30 people. I suppose I’m fortunate that I wasn’t one of them. On the other hand, it’s part of my job to disable network and email accounts, etc… so it’s been quite depressing.
But alas… it’s Friday. Tomorrow I’ll finally do my taxes, I think. Why put off til to…

Good news. Gidge is not dead. She was on the bus this morning. However, it was rather crowded and she sat in the back thereby obliterating any chance to flirt.
And… I think her eyes are blue, not green. …
